Salam and hi to all
I have many things to tell on this blog. I got plans for this blog, to organize giveaway and contest. I want to keep updating this blog while ideas keep coming into my head.
...but, I'm lack of free time to organize those things.
WHY?
I'm struggling to complete the construction and detail drawing of the sample house for Baba Nyonya Resort at Jalan Gapam, Jasin, Melaka. At the same time , I have to sit down with client and structural engineer to sort out some issues.
The part that I really hate is to amend the drawing in autoCAD. I don't have draughtman helping me since my assistant quit the job couple months ago. Now I have to draft the drawing all by myself, while at the same time , I have to attend meetings, doing design jobs and 3D sketchup illustration. I need to work overtime to catch up everything.
.. come bro, stop complaining! Some people have worse task than what you have in hands...
hmmm.. ok, ok.. I won't complaint... but still I need to do another project queued in my folder. I have to be more accurate and improve my working skill. I need to design fast, drafting faster, less dreaming and overcome the sleepy mode problem after lunch :p . I did mentioned to my colleague, this is probably because I'm getting older, so I had the sleepy mode syndrome :D
I think I have to stop now. Maybe in the next entry, I'm going to share what I have in mind for big art project in this blog. I also I will share how I play with the roof design for type D bungalow as I have to change it to another look. The potential buyer really don't like the original roof pattern, based on what the developer told me.
For junior architect, maybe what I'm going to share can be useful to you guys. Or if any of you have more experience than me, please voice up your comment. I'd like to hear and learn from you guys. For me, learning process can be gain even from youngsters. It's not a big deal listen to them, if their ideas and knowledge is better.
ciao
Hoho... sitting in the same shoes aren't we? Well that's part of the nature in the archy world, people comes and goes, and work flows like the river of niagara falls. lots of boats but no one to manned it...
ReplyDeleteWell it's a good thing to have this blog to express your feelings, at least release a little bit of stress.
What we did before, when we design in scetchup (pro 8), we do imports with cad and set all dimensions. Same goes vice versa. so by right procedures you are doing two jobs at once.
Normally integration is simple, the key would be as you always do is, separating each layers and views, which CAD + Skethup can easily adapt. Either you start with CAD or Sketchup both ways has its own advantages. The simple setup of integration is the key.
As we learnt before and would like to share, using other methods is also useful but at the end finding the best ways which suits you and your work load can lift a hefty burden off your shoulders. So, we always stick on certain softwares and make full use of the integratios.
Good Luck on your journey. Pray for the best.
Yes, we are in the same shoes.. :) I've seen my mate doing the 3D in CAd, then integrate with skechtup. What I did, just import the plan and elevation from AutoCAD, then construct the 3d in google sketchup. FYI, I just learnt sketchup last year.
DeleteAnyway, I really appreciate your comment / tips here. I hope you can give more in future.
cheers bro
chill bro...everything should be ok.
ReplyDeleteThanks.. :)
DeleteEnjoy the designing part and building up your models, by the time you become a busy project architect you'll miss these things :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Rose.
