2009 Audi R8 Review by FLDetours

I've been busy with offline and online trading recently. Still exhausted after Mega Sales Carnival organized by MARA last weekend. I was asking my wife to manage couple things especially for online trading and  entrecard drop.

Today I continue with my ebay and online clothing updates and surfing few other blogs and websites. Suddenly, I found very nice Audi R8 review on youtube by FLDetours. Seroiusly I don't really aware about this new Audi R8 model. Normally I just exposed with Audi TT (PS2 Grand Tourismo :P), Audi A8, Ausi A6 and Audi A4. But this Audi R8 looks marvelous and superb. I'm not sure about the price, but for guarantee, it is not a cheap car....

DIGI Internet Broadband : no 3G only WAP ???

Here I'd like to share the fact : pro n cons about DIGI Broadband and how good is digi broadband. Please refer to my previous post.

If you are going to get the DIGI pakcage, make sure check for the coverage as there will be 2 types of connection availble 3G and WAP , depends on your location. Check here for location coverage.

Most part of Malaysia are still not availble with 3G service hence, WAP (edge) are widely covered all over Malaysia (peninsular, Sabah and Sarawak). I have no experience of using the DIGI 3G yet but my connection of EDGE with Sony Ericsson mobile as the modem is not fair for the judgement of the speed. I admit the speed of DIGI broadband (using handphone + EDGE coverage) is not fast enough for hardcore internet user.

But I have to thank DIGI as Celcom is not really useful especially for mobile internet user 'di kawasan kampung-kampung pedalaman'.

DIGI Internet Broadband : so far so good

I feel terrible for not surfing the internet, more than 4 days. As an ebayer, every order and payment must be updated, since I have to get them posted.

This is happened when something wrong with my brother's internet wifi (which I'm sharing with him). Previously, I already have DIGI mobile internet subscription. Unfortunately, the modem (Vodafone Mobile Connect Modem : HUAWEI) is not compatible with my HP Presario V3700 Notebook PC usb port.

After struggling with solutions, finally manage to surf the internet using my Sony Ericsson K800i as a modem. The phone can be connected to either DIGI WAP or Maxis 3G, which is tested and I'm writing this entry with DIGI mobile broadband internet. The good thing about it : Digi has lots of EDGE coverage throughout the country.

Update : Engine oil vs cooking oil

I just get my car back today from the workshop. I had full service for the car. Previously I'm using cooking oil as the engine oil based on Rohaizad's :Pengalaman sebenar menggunakan minyak masak sawit sebagai minyak hitam kereta. This time, I've been told by the mechanic to use original synthetic 4T engine oil.
Why?

• The car has oil seal leaking before and it worsen. When they opened it, the oil seals already come off. Based on the mechanic, this is because the cooking oil is not thick enough, make it very thin and slippery.
  
• The palm oil already get into the clutch plate. He says, even the clutch plate washed, it will slips if it is reused, because the palm oil already absorbed in.

The clutch plate need to be replaced with the new one while actually its still good and can be use for quite a long period. One part wasted, which cost me RM 188.00


This time I'm not using the cooking oil as the engine oil. The mechanic advised me not to save few dollars but spend more at the end. Me.... I am stubborn. I'd like to use it again in the future. My analysis : it is not because of the quality of the palm oil, it is because I've been using it for too long (3 months ++), without changing to the new one.

Car tyre balancing : How often you do the maintenance?

I went to the workshop for my car tyre balancing and alignment. I'm supposed to do it couple months ago. Since I'm broke, I just ignore the most important part of the car. (Because I also have to fix the rim as well)... The new brake pad also changed on this visit.


Why tyre balancing is so important?

If the tyre is not balance, there will be difficulties for the drive to control the steering. On the other part, your tyre life span will be shortened. (tayar makan sebelah beb! ) . End up, the tyres need to be changed earlier than it has to be. So, you have to spend more money in long term.

Why you want to save very little amount (RM5 each tyres) + another RM 25 for the alignment, but you have to spend more for replacing the tyres when it is not time yet!

The tyre shop located at Tg. Agas, Muar (or I can say Parit Bunga?) The price is reasonable. I just did exchange the old sport rim, and replace them with the new one + extra RM200. Otherwise, they have to fix 3 of the rims at the cost of RM 50 each. I have to change it because they can't balance the tyre. So many dents and mark of small excident ( it was like that when I bought this used car).


What you have to consider for a good workshop?

1. Good customer service and the efficiency is rule no. 1
2. Competitive and reasonable price.
3. Clear explaination on whatever parts need to be changed.
4. Visible workplace, so you can see them working; to prevent conned when comes to new parts or used parts.
5. Ladies, be careful - try to get there with man, and make sure the guy with you know basic about car.

Hope this guide can prevent lies and cheat of some workshop. There are some cases when they replace secon hand parts, but claimed as NEW. And make sure any parts that are still can be used doesn't need replacement.

By next week, I got to do full service as last oil change was 2 1/2 month ago. I will use the cooking oil as the engine oil again! Are you dare? Besides, there is leaking on the head gasket. What I have to change for full service are;

• Oil filter
• Water Pump
• Belting (if got sounds)
• Timing belt
• Oil Gear

+ regular battery , air filter, wiper, coolant CHECK UP

This photo taken from the fruit stall just nearby my house, located at Parit Bunga, Muar. It is called buah kundang (I don't know the name in English). Nothing to do with kundang ulu as this fruits imported from Thailand, well known for their modern and hi-tech agriculture. I bought few grams, but can't enjoyed it as it is really sour (masam giler siot!)

Geng the Movie : Lets go watch

Geng the movie will start probably in 3 hours 58 minutes from now. I've checked on the jadual wayang, 3 cinemas will screen it, this midnight. Unfortunately, it's far from Muar... hurmm.. poor me.

Can't wait to see it in cinema nearby. Anyway, I'll wait till it comes to Melaka GSC or Muar.

Gengthemovie review

I went to Dataran Pahlawan GSC Cinema last night. Watching Inkheart, another movie from book adaptation. It becomes a phenomenon for Hollywood now days to generate famous titles, transform it into a movie. Anyway, Inkheart is quite good and entertaining with special effects and funny scene and dialogue. I give 3.5 stars out of 5 for Inkheart.

When I'm out from the cinema, I passed 'Gang The Movie' poster (I adore to have them stick on my wall..... honestly). For me, this is what I've been waiting, ever since. During my childhood days, I always watch Walt Disney cartoon and characters. During my teenage years, I start knowing DreamWorks, famously known for their Shrek sequence, and Pixar (Ant, Incredibles, etc). Now, it is time for our local product, totally made in Malaysia to colors the world of cartoon.

Produced by Les' Copaque, well known for Upin dan Ipin tv series maker. This is absolutely will be the hottest in Malaysia for February 2009 (hopefully for the whole year). Proud for Malaysian. The first Malaysia's first ever 3D animated feature film, made in Malaysia! This is totally awesome and I can't wait to get the tickets.
